American Rags and Brazilian Tangos
Fred Sturm, piano
Sturm goes to the roots of American rags and Brazilian tangos, as well as the beginnings of jazz. Music of the two top ragtime composers, Scott Joplin and James Scott, will be paired with tangos of their Brazilian contemporary, Ernesto Nazareth, in an exploration of sophisticated music from the 1890s to the 1920s.

The Great Gatsby Ballet
The NM Phil with the New Mexico Ballet Company presents a ballet based on the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic featuring great characters like the villainous Tom, the naive Nick, the lovely Daisy, and the dreamer, Gatsby. Revisit this great American novel from a new perspective.
