The Story of Objects

A series of design workshops with R. Melinda Hoffman. In these workshops, participants will bring in and share the sentimental significance of objects near and dear to their hearts with the intention of having Hoffman turn the item into a pendant or objet d’art.

INgqikithi Yokuphica/Weavings Meanings:  Telephone Wire Art from South Africa

An exhibition of a South African tradition that spans nearly 100 years. A large part of the exhibit features Zulu artwork and many of the artists have shown their work at the International Folk Art Market.

At the core of Richard Mosse’s solo show at Art Vault is a never-before-seen presentation of the Thoma Foundation’s recent acquisition from Mosse, Broken Spectre: a captivating, 66-minute film documenting the intensive deforestation of the world’s largest rainforest in the Brazilian Amazon.

Abstracting Nature

Features the works of ten artists, past and contemporary, whose relationships with the New Mexico landscape have played a vital role in their creative practices. They use a lens of abstraction to explore the deep stories and personal connections they share with the environment through sculpture, weaving, printmaking, and painting.

I am a white woman painting people of color, mostly black women. Why, you might ask? “Love is all that matters” comes to mind. So says artist, Kim Goldfarb who grew up in the South in the 50s and 60s and witnessed the inequality that the black community was subjected to and was very confused and disturbed.

Origami in the Garden

An exhibition created by Santa Fe artists Jennifer and Kevin Box, features Box’s own compositions as well as collaborations with world-renowned origami artists Robert J. Lang, Te Jui Fu, Beth Johnson and Michael G. LaFosse. These remarkable artworks feel at home in the wondrous setting of botanical gardens, since paper originates in plant life and origami is made of paper.

Millicent Rogers Museum has:

¡Chicanao! Caminos Distintos:  Chicano Art in New Mexico 1970-2025

This exhibition explores the diverse artistic journeys of Chicano and Chicana artists in New Mexico. It will feature an artist panel with three artists from the exhibition, Juanita Jaramillo Lavadie, Francisco LeFebre, and Delilah Montoya. The panel will be considering Nuestros Antepasados, remembering those that came before in the Chicano movement, and sharing stories from the early days of the movement through the memories of these prominent artists.
